After complaints, Nook is updated - The Boston Globe

It’ll be interesting to see if B&N follows Amazon’s lead and offers compelling Nook client software apps for leading non-e-reader platforms

The company does not disclose sales figures for the Nook.

Hundreds of Nook owners have posted complaints online.

“It freezes almost daily,’’ Stacey Hendricks, a student in Louisiana said in an e-mail to Bloomberg. “Assuming Barnes & Noble doesn’t whip this situation into shape pronto, I’ll likely be switching over to the iPad.’’

Barnes & Noble has updated Nook software twice before.
