Nokia Turns to Pamela Anderson to Close IPhone Gap - BusinessWeek

A Pamela Anderson video promotion for Nokia – interesting times

For Chief Executive Officer Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, the event offers a chance to show he can turn the company around amid speculation Nokia is seeking to replace him. Nokia shares have slumped 60 percent since Apple introduced the iPhone in June 2007 and the company’s market share in smartphones, the fastest- growing part of the industry, has shrunk.

Nokia will introduce new devices and services on the revamped Symbian 3 operating system, according to a person with knowledge of the plans, the N8 being the first of the new line. It’s unlikely to make major announcements on the MeeGo operating platform it’s developing with Intel Corp., the person said, declining to be identified because the plans aren’t public.
