E-reader competition is picking up momentum – although this one sounds more like a PC with an e-ink display than an e-reader “appliance,” in some respects
The Que (pronounced “cue’’) may be one of those products. In the holiday season just ended, consumers scooped up thousands of e-book readers, especially Amazon.com’s beloved Kindle. Kindle was by far the best on the market, and it will continue to be, until April. That’s when Plastic Logic Ltd. will begin selling the Que.
Granted, I’ve handled the Que only for a few minutes, on a crowded trade show floor. Still, first impressions count, so here’s mine: Wow.
It’s thinner than a legal pad, almost as light, and has no push buttons at all, unless you count the on-off slider at its base. It’s controlled almost entirely with a touchscreen.
