Google Inc. will begin brokering some television ads on cable networks owned by General Electric Co.'s NBC Universal, the companies announced Monday, as the Web giant seeks to expand the reach of its nascent TV-ad-selling business.
The deal allows Google customers to buy ads on six NBC-owned cable networks, including Sci-Fi, Oxygen, MSNBC and CNBC. It represents the first time Google will act as a middleman for ads sold through a TV network.
