SiliconValley.com | 09/07/2004 | TiVo, Netflix spotted making out in back row "Shares of Netflix and TiVo are tearing up Nasdaq this morning on rumors of an imminent video-on-demand partnership. Newsweek, citing an anonymous source, says the two companies are discussing an alliance that will allow Netflix members to download movies over the Internet directly into the TiVo boxes in their homes. It's a significant pairing and one that, should it pan out, would give Netflix a decent footprint in the nascent VoD market and TiVo a way to increase its share of the increasingly crowded digital video recorder market or, barring that, a nice exit strategy."
