BBC News - Tweeters are being sued for defamatory comments

Check the article link below for an interview video.  In addition to dubious discretion challenges, I believe a key problem with Twitter is that there simply isn’t much hope for clear context-setting in staccato <= 140-character tweets.  I predict we’ll see a growing number of “I know it when I see it” context- and intent-related judgments in this domain…

More and more people are being taken to court due to offensive and defamatory twittering. Media lawyer, Paul Gilbert, joined BBC Breakfast to make clear that tweeters can be sued for defamatory comments whilst comedian David Schneider believes it is all about the context of the comment.
