Track a Tour de France Team With Google Maps [GigaOm]

Sign of the times…

If you’re a Tour de France fan, Google is now offering the ability to track an entire team’s progress through the legendary cycling race, which winds through the hills of France over the course of three weeks and 2,200 miles. The search company is using Android phones from HTC and an application called MyTracks to provide real-time location, elevation and other data about the eight members of the HTC-Columbia team. The riders are using devices from a German company called SRM that will also track telemetry data such as their heart rate and speed in real-time.
