The Seattle Times: Business & Technology: Q & A: Media Center puts Microsoft in living room

The Seattle Times: Business & Technology: Q & A: Media Center puts Microsoft in living room "Q. What is the biggest competition Microsoft faces for its vision of the PC at the center of home entertainment?
[Joe Belfiore, general manager of Microsoft's eHome division] A. Apple certainly views the Macintosh as a center of the digital home. While they have many capabilities that are well executed, they don't have the entertainment platform that we think we have here. They don't offer the ability to use it with a remote, they don't have a rich mechanism for other companies to add value like Movielink and Cinema Now and Napster have, so I think that's one place we're doing well.
If you look at dedicated devices like a TiVo, those devices offer many of the same features as Media Center but there is no one consumer-electronics device that offers the wide range of choices and the complete integration of the digital-media types we offer."
