Amazon to let people read full Kindle books in web browser

Apparently Amazon will have a dumbed-down version of its Kindle client, in case anyone wants functional parity with Google’s new eBooks client…

Interestingly — given the competitive threat posed by Google's new ebookstore to Amazon — Amazon chose to demonstrate its new Kindle for the Web at the Google Chrome event today. According to Amazon, Kindle for the Web "will support Chrome OS devices, including the new Chrome OS Notebook, as well as the Chrome browser and other web browsers."
