"The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted Apple 34 patents Tuesday, including one for a new digital-camera system that can be mounted and operated by a remote control, according to Patently Apple, a blog that follows the patent filings of the technology giant.

In its patent filing, Apple says its system overcomes some of the shortcomings of GoPro’s cameras, such as a susceptibility to vibration. [...] 

Capitalizing on the popularity of its cameras, GoPro went public last year. On Tuesday, the stock fell 13% to $49.87, off 47% from its October high. GoPro’s stock is still more than double its initial public offering price of $24."
