WSJ.com - AOL to Launch Net Phone Service, Giving VOIP a Mainstream Name

WSJ.com - AOL to Launch Net Phone Service, Giving VOIP a Mainstream Name: "America Online intends to launch an Internet phone service within a month, becoming the latest and potentially most significant entrant into the growing market.
AOL's enormous customer base and reputation for making technology easy to use could propel Internet telephone service into the mainstream, heightening pressure on traditional phone companies that are losing customers by the droves to the new service.
...
Mr. Miller said the hallmark of AOL's Internet phone service would be its "ease of use." He said AOL's service would be powered by Level 3 Communications Inc. and Sonus Networks Inc."

Everybody's getting involved... I don't see how AOL will be able to add a lot of value, however (and I've also never considered AOL particularly easy to use).
