In the first flush of iPad buying fever, eager shoppers were closely marked by an equally eager crush of media chronicling the iPad debut.
At the Apple outlet on New York’s Fifth Avenue, the first iPad buyers emerged from the store just after 9 a.m. Eastern time to a wave of TV cameras and interview requests from media outlets as far away as Japan. Some media members shouted at the buyers to triumphantly hold aloft their iPad booty for all to see, and to photograph of course.
