My favorite was an application called Onfolio, available now at www.onfolio.com. This utility works alongside your browser (or as a standalone desktop application) and lets you easily collect information from various sites and bring them together in different collections. These 'collections' can include either links to or copies of the pages you've seen, so you can go back to them for research. You can also add in data from your desktop applications. When you're done, you can share the information via e-mail, view the data in multipage HTML files, or use a 'publisher' utility to create a research document. "
