Final paragraphs of a big data market snapshot -- although I think "Are you asking right, relevant, and timely questions?" needs to be on the list somewhere...

"The upstarts say that so much data is flowing into companies that technologies from just a couple of years ago will have a hard time keeping up. Wise.io, for example, claims it recently did in 20 minutes work that currently takes four months on conventional systems.
“Everything is in a race to zero,” said Joshua Bloom, chief executive of Wise.io and a professor of astrophysics at the University of California, Berkeley. “First it’s how much data can you pull out. Then it’s how fast you can get an answer. Eventually the only question will be, ‘Are you getting the answer faster than the other guy?’”"
