Facebook lures Firefox development chief away from Mozilla

Facebook Inc. today announced that Mike Schroepfer, who led the Firefox development team at Mozilla Corp., has agreed to join Facebook as director of engineering.

Schroepfer, who was vice president of engineering at Mozilla, will be responsible for leading the front-end and platform engineering teams at Facebook, the social network said. Before joining Mozilla, Schroepfer was chief technology officer of the data center automation division at Sun Microsystems Inc. and a Sun distinguished engineer.
