WSJ.com - Microsoft Delays Update On Windows Security

WSJ.com - Microsoft Delays Update On Windows Security "People waiting for Microsoft Corp. to make their personal computers safer from computer viruses, worms and hackers are going to have to wait a little longer.
The Redmond, Wash., software maker said yesterday that it would delay the release of "Service Pack 2," a long-awaited update to Windows XP that is expected to address security concerns with the widely used operating system.
Microsoft had planned to announce late yesterday that the software was being transferred to its manufacturing plants and was ready for users to download. Instead, the company then reversed course, stating that to ensure the software meets quality standards, it now plans to make the product available at an unspecified future date."
