"Ellison, who two weeks ago turned over the top post to lieutenants Safra Catz and Mark Hurd, said Thursday the two were entitled to proper recognition for their longtime responsibilities. Catz and Hurd had been Oracle co-presidents since 2010, and together they ran much of the day-to-day operations at the business-software company.

“They have been doing this job for a very, very long time,” Ellison said during an onstage appearance before financial analysts on the fifth and final day of the company’s annual OpenWorld conference. “These guys now have the titles they have long deserved.”"
