"Another focus is what IBM and its partners call cognitive cooking. The computing giant has a website called Chef Watson that uses machine learning and recipes from Bon Appétit magazine to suggests dishes to whip up from a set of ingredients.
Recommendations and recipes can be transferred from tablets or smartphones to some of Whirlpool’s latest ovens, the companies said.

Such initiatives are crucial new arrows in the company’s quiver, Ms. Rometty said. “You see a reinvented IBM emerging,” she said. “Many people would characterize us as a hardware, software, services company. And we are. But it’s no longer all that we do.”"
