"In a newly released forecast, Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray predicts sales of the much-hyped new product will hit one million on opening weekend, but his view for all of 2015 is well below the Wall Street consensus.

Wall Street is calling for 14 million watch sales from Apple in 2015. But Mr. Munster has a more conservative view, anticipating sales of eight million units. That would represent about 2% of Apple’s revenue in 2015 based on Mr. Munster’s estimate. While he does not expect sales to surge immediately, Mr. Munster forecasts watch sales could reach 40 to 50 million by 2017, which would account for roughly 10% of total revenue at Apple. And that, he says, would mark “a success for the watch.”"
