"An Israeli company says it’s developed an optical lens and image processing software that’s so powerful it can turn any smartphone into a hyperspectral sensor, potentially allowing cameras to break down the chemical components of almost any object from a distance – without having to collect physical specimens.

Unispectral’s camera would be able to provide the chemical fingerprint of the milk to determine if it is genuine or fake, said Ariel Raz, a Unispectral team member.
