A timely Facebook privacy reality check

May 31 — dubbed “Quit Facebook Day” by a group unhappy over Facebook’s privacy policies — has come and gone, and fewer than 35,000 people, less than .009% of the social-networking site’s users, agreed to quit.

But Facebook is still facing questions about its privacy policies from lawmakers; the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee sent a letter Friday to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg requesting more details about what information Facebook provides to third parties and how the service’s policies have changed since it was founded.
