Ford, Microsoft Team Up To Help Electric-Car Owners Recharge - WSJ.com

Expanding on the very successful Ford/Microsoft partnership

Ford Motor Co. (F) announced it will use Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) technology to allow its electric vehicle owners to charge batteries more quickly and cheaply.

The two companies will also work together to develop an system that manages energy usage for electric cars.

Ford, the first to adopt Microsoft’s application, will use the Hohm energy management application, with the Focus Electric expected to be the first vehicle to do so. The system will help car owners decide how to recharge battery electric cars and plug-in hybrid cars more efficiently.
