Interesting times -- and probably habit-forming, for many viewers
Among the many unintended but perfectly predictable consequences of the Hollywood writers’ strike is that without new television episodes to watch, people are beginning to watch more DVDs.
“We’re going to have more and more people looking for alternative sources of content, especially when it comes to TV,” said Michael J. Olson, senior research analyst with Piper Jaffray & Co. “There will be a trend toward movies but also TV series they haven’t watched but have always wanted to.”
