WSJ.com - Gates Introduces New Products: "Vista will be central to Microsoft's strategy. Mr. Gates said Windows Vista Media Center personal computers, from manufacturers such as Dell Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Gateway Inc., would be ready for the 2006 holiday season. Vista will feature faster, improved searches and will also have an updated media player that will allow users to more easily playback digital content from any PC in the house. Users will be able to find, manage and share personalized television recommendations, as well as remotely schedule recordings on their Media Center personal computers. And Vista will add support for high-definition video via the burgeoning 'CableCard' technology that lets users get digital cable simply by inserting an access card from their cable operators.
Microsoft said its Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, which was launched a month ago, is forecast to ship 4.5 million to 5.5 million units worldwide by the end of June.
The company expects that more than 50 new high-definition Xbox 360 games will be available by June, and to deliver a new Xbox 360 external HD DVD drive in 2006."
