I agree Notes has evolved in many ways over the years, but I think the latest evolution of the IBM collaboration/social business offering set is relatively more discontinous, shifting to Connections, and I also think that's the right strategy at this point. Notes was a pioneering product, one ahead of its time in many ways, but I believe it's now mostly a legacy/installed base play for anything other than enterprise messaging.

p.s. imho Cisco's Postpath strategy was foolish in any venue :)pbokellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18207982160283918003noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3366778.post-62742414632701932332011-06-23T21:32:40.608-04:002011-06-23T21:32:40.608-04:00Let's face it, talking about Notes among the E...Let's face it, talking about Notes among the Enterprise 2.0 digerati is as foolish as Cisco trying to prop up the Postpath story there a year ago. It's just not the right conference for it.

It's a long, long leap from "Notes isn't at Enterprise 2.0" to it's dead. One of the amazing aspects of the original vision that you so accurately describe in the other post and your early work is that the product has evolved countless times, and continues to find new markets and customers almost 22 years in.Ed Brillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12942721347750775015noreply@blogger.com
